Positano or Amalfi ferry port

Should guests choose Positano or Amalfi ferry port?

When considering ferry travel to or from Praiano, several factors come into play:

1.   Luggage Weight and Accessibility:

If you're carrying heavy luggage and your rental is not centrally located in Praiano, it might be more convenient to consider reaching the Amalfi harbor. Amalfi offers easier accessibility as it is closer to the main road, and there are no stairs involved upon disembarkation from the ferry. From Amalfi, you can then opt for a car service to Praiano, which could be more comfortable if you have a lot of luggage or if mobility is a concern due to age or fitness.

2.  Positano's Accessibility:

Positano, while closer to Praiano, might require more consideration if you're not as young, extremely fit, or carrying substantial luggage. The port in Positano is closer to Praiano but involves a walk of about 10 minutes, which could be challenging if you have mobility issues or heavy baggage.

3.  Departure Points:

As mentioned, Positano and Amalfi are well-equipped with piers and serve as departure points for ferry companies heading to various destinations, including Capri, Naples, Salerno, and other nearby towns. Praiano, unfortunately, lacks a similar pier for larger ferry boats.

Choosing between Amalfi and Positano for ferry travel to or from Praiano often depends on personal circumstances such as luggage weight, proximity to your accommodation, and your physical capabilities. Prioritizing comfort and ease of travel is essential, especially when dealing with heavy luggage or mobility concerns.
